Century Mortar Club classroom is renovated
Renovated classroom promoted active learning and increases the classroom seating from 80 to 100 students.
The CoP launches the “DP4” or “Doctor of Pharmacy Program for Practicing Pharmacists.”
The program admitted pharmacists from Minnesota and South Dakota for four years. By the time of its closing in 2007, 112 pharmacists receive their Pharm.D. degree through this program.
FDA Approves Diastat®
A diazepam rectal gel used to treat seizures, the research to develop Diastat was a collaboration between the college and Upsher-Smith Laboratories, Inc., a local pharmaceutical company.
Nation’s first Rural Health School begins
Pharmacy students are teamed with medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant students to learn about patient care in Moose Lake, New Ulm and Grand Rapids.
Lawrence C. and Delores M. Weaver Medal is established
The award recognizes Distinguished Contributions to Pharmacy Education, Research or Outreach
Health Sciences Unit F, home of the College of Pharmacy since 1981, is renamed Weaver-Densford Hall
The building is named after Lawrence Weaver (College of Pharmacy dean, 1966-1984 and interim dean, 1994-1995), and Katharine Densford (School of Nursing director, 1930-1959).
CoP receives $13.5 million from the Peters estate.
