- Dr. Ally Kingsbury, ‘19, was featured in the UMD story, “U of M Pharmacy Students Administering COVID-19 Vaccines.” The story also features third-year pharmacy student Larissa Ostfeld, ‘22.
- Dr. Bill Larson, ‘83, shared his personal and work story as a HIV medication adherence pharmacist. The story was shared as part of the college’s recognition of Pride Month.
- Dr. Adam Pavek, ‘07, is one of three community leaders from rural Minnesota who have been selected as the inaugural cohort for Project REACH (Rural Experts Advancing Community Health), a joint initiative of the University of Minnesota Rural Health Program through the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
- Dr. Mary Sauer, ‘12, shared the story of her work in medication therapy management in a family medicine clinic as part of the health system’s gender care program. The story was shared as part of the college’s recognition of Pride Month.
- Dr. Julie Skoglund, ‘15, was featured in the Duluth News Tribune story, “Bois Forte travels state to bring vaccine to band members.”
Alumni Achievements
- Dr. Danial Baker, '80, was promoted to Regents Professor at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Baker is the first and only Regents Professor in the 130-year history of the college.
- Dr. Robert Haight, ‘98, has been named the president of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) Board for 2021-2022.
- Dr. Navpreet Kaur, ‘21, was a 2021 recipient of the UMN President's Student Leadership and Service Awards recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding student leaders at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
- Dr. Carolyn O’Donnell, ‘20, is the recipient of a College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) Research and Practice Award. Dr. O’Donnell won the Original Research Award.
In Memoriam
Bill Diers, who received his master’s degree in Social and Administrative Pharmacy in 1980 and was a tremendous friend and advocate of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, died on Saturday, May 22. Bill, 74, was a truly distinguished pharmacist. Throughout his 50-year career in pharmacy and hospital management he advocated for patient-centered healthcare, was a leader in numerous board organizations, and mentor to students and colleagues alike.So many within the College of Pharmacy community count themselves lucky enough to have been recipients of Bill’s kindness and friendship. We will miss him very much.
