Laura Hirsch & Rui Shi Receive 2024 - 2025 College of Pharmacy Fellowships

Two our dedicated Medicinal Chemistry PhD students were awarded competitive College of Pharmacy fellowships!
Laura Hirsch was awarded a Bighley Fellowship. The Bighley Graduate Fellowships are awarded to full-time CoP PhD graduate students who have great potential and are conducting research in basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences. Laura is an advisee of Professor Daniel Harki. Her research focuses on the development of a targeted protein degrader therapy for neuroblastoma treatment.
Rui Shi was awarded a Rowell Fellowship. The Ted Rowell Graduate Fellowships are awarded to full-time CoP PhD graduate students who are conducting research in basic pharmaceutical sciences with an emphasis in nutrition or drug delivery systems. Rui is an advisee of Professor Gunda Georg. His research investigates the development of effective bioavailable non-hormonal male contraception.
Both Laura and Rui have done amazing work with us as students, in addition to being fantastic people and citizens of the department. Way to go, you two!
