Dr. Lucinda Maine to Receive Weaver Medal
The Weaver Medal Celebration is planned for Wednesday, September 11 at the Campus Club, Coffman Union.
Lucinda L. Maine, PhD, RPh has been selected as the 2023 Lawrence C. and Delores M. Weaver Medal recipient. The award recognizes sustained and distinguished support of the College of Pharmacy and its students, and/or acknowledges outstanding contribution to pharmacy education, practice, research or community outreach.
Dr. Maine is a 1985 graduate of the Kellogg Pharmaceutical Clinical Scientist PhD Program in the Social and Administrative Pharmacy Graduate Program University of Minnesota’s College of Pharmacy.
Lucinda L. Maine was designated the CEO Emerita of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) in July 2023 after serving as executive vice president and CEO of the AACP for 20 years. Maine also served as senior vice president for policy, planning and communications with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Maine is a pharmacy graduate of Auburn University and received her doctorate at the University of Minnesota. She served on the faculty at the University of Minnesota where she practiced in the field of geriatrics and was an associate dean at the Samford University School of Pharmacy.
“Dr. Maine was the executive vice president and CEO of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy for approximately two decades. Her vision of pharmacy and the future of healthcare and pharmacy helped shape the direction that the College of Pharmacy took for many years.”

Maine has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award and the Remington Honor Medal. The American Association of Medical Colleges presented a Special Recognition Award for Lucinda’s leadership in interprofessional education in 2022. Maine was also the recipient of the University of Minnesota Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1998.
