Biography
Bio
Federico Facciolo is pursuing his PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems (PCHS) at the University of Minnesota. Federico earned a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Social and Administrative Pharmacy emphasis) at Creighton University. He also earned a Master in Pharmaceutical Technology and Regulatory Affairs, and a Pharmacy degree from the University of Pavia, Italy, after which he obtained his pharmacist license.
Federico’s primary research interests focus on evaluating the impact of pharmacy faculty and applying program evaluation and implementation science principles to design faculty evaluation processes. He has conducted quantitative (i.e., survey), qualitative (i.e., interviews), and mixed methods research and published peer-reviewed articles on community pharmacy services and pharmacy policy including a study that explored enhanced services offered at independent community pharmacies. The results were published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association and have inspired follow-up projects.
Federico is establishing himself as an academic teacher and researcher working as a teaching assistant for PharmD and undergraduate courses and a research assistant in the PCHS Department. He also worked as an intern for the regulatory affairs division at a global pharmaceutical company. In terms of academic service and leadership, he is the Vice President of the Council of Graduate Students. Federico’s career goal is becoming an academic faculty and continuing his research on improving colleges of pharmacy and higher education.
