Academic interests
My primary focus is clinical toxicology and chemistry, particularly utilizing mass spectrometry for drug analysis, medication compliance monitoring, and automated chemistry workflows. Special interests include using technology to work more efficiently, health informatics, and promoting the value of our medical laboratory profession.
I have held many roles in research and clinical laboratories, the last being Toxicology Technical Specialist for nine years at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. There I was responsible for departmental quality in a high complexity area, assisted supervision of staff in the Core Laboratory, implemented new methods both FDA approved and Lab Developed Tests, and led training programs for staff and students.
