Facilities
The Pharmaceutics Department is housed in modern facilities within Weaver-Densford Hall of the Academic Health Center on the Minneapolis Campus.
It is well-equipped with a wide range of analytical instrumentation as well as processing equipment. There are also extensive animal facilities for carrying out biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic studies. Computer facilities are widely available within the Department, and those in the University Computer Center are also directly accessible.
Weaver-Densford Hall, which houses the College of Pharmacy and School of Nursing, is within a short walking distance of the University Hospital, the Biomedical Engineering Institute, the Institute of Technology (which includes the Department of Chemistry and various departments of engineering), and the two main University libraries, Biomedical (science) and Walter (engineering). Finally, much of the campus is connected by a convenient system of underground passages and skyways.
The Academic Health Center, which includes Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Public Health and Veterinary Medicine, is closely associated in its clinical functions with the teaching hospital at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, located in the heart of the Minneapolis Campus on the East Bank of the Mississippi River, near downtown Minneapolis.
