Screening for an interview

Applications are reviewed for an interview invitation based primarily on academic achievement, using the following criteria:

Automatic interview invitation:

Overall PharmCAS GPA of 3.3 or higher

Reviewed for an interview invitation:

Applicants below 3.3 GPA

All applicants are strongly encouraged to apply; usually, 85-95% of applicants were invited to interview! Reviewers will evaluate an applicant's overall GPA, science GPA, prerequisite GPA, GPA trends, along with challenges the applicant has faced and barriers they have overcome, to identify applicants selected to interview.

Interview Dates

For the Fall 2025 application cycle, interviews will be held both virtually and in-person on both campuses.

In-person: Friday, September 27, 2024
Virtual: Friday, October 4, 2024
Virtual: Friday, November 1, 2024
In-person: Friday, November 22, 2024
Virtual: Friday, December 6, 2024
Virtual: Friday, January 17, 2025
Remaining spring days announced later this fall

Please keep in mind the following:

We offer the same interview day structure both in-person and virtually and the mode in which you interview has no bearing on your admissions decision - choose what is most convenient to you!
Due to our rolling admissions process, it is to your benefit to interview as early as you are available (space is limited at each interview day). You must interview on or before December 6th to remain eligible for the priority deadline.
We do not schedule interviews before an application is considered complete and has been reviewed for an interview invitation.

While our precise schedule varies, the typical components of an interview day are reflected below. Not only do we interview you, but we also consider it an opportunity for you to “interview” us! You’ll want to get know the programs you’re considering, so we want to be sure your questions are answered and you get a thorough overview of what it’s like to be a student here!

Our in-person interview days are held simultaneously on both campuses (Duluth and Twin Cities), with the rooms connected using the same technology used throughout our curriculum.
